HIGHLIGHTS
Located southwest of the main island of Honshu, lies the region of Kyushu, land of volcanoes, ancient religious sites and a galaxy of regional cuisines. Join us for a different taste of Japan.
Glover Gardens
Nagasaki’s foremost tourist attraction, Glover Gardens, is an open-air museum featuring mansions and residences of the city’s former foreign residents. It is located on the hill where Western merchants settled down after the end of Japan’s era of seclusion in the second half of the 19th century.
Nagasaki and Hiroshima Peace Parks
In 1945, atomic bombs fell on Nagasaki and Hiroshima and destroyed most of the cities and killed tens of thousands of residents. Peace Parks have been established to commemorate this event and to remind future generations of the horrors of war.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial
In Hiroshima, the Peace Park stands as a poignant reminder of the devastating atomic bomb dropped during World War II. Here, amidst serene gardens and striking monuments, visitors pay homage to the lives lost and reaffirm their commitment to peace. The iconic Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a haunting testament to the city’s resilience and serves as a beacon of hope for future generations.
Mt. Inasayama
Ride the ropeway to the summit and catch the breathtaking view of the city.
Two Stars 4047
A retro-themed train ride to experience the charms of the West Kyushu area, while touring the two stars of Kyushu tourism: Saga Prefecture and Nagasaki Prefecture.
Huis Ten Bosch
A theme park that recreates the Netherlands by displaying life-sized copies of old Dutch buildings. There are rides and attractions for everyone. Visitors can have a good time indulging in the view, enjoying the many attractions, savoring a meal at one of the many restaurants, or relaxing in a leisure boat touring the canals.
Miyajima
Also known as the Shrine Island, this is one of Japan’s most popular tourist attractions. It is most famous for its dramatic gate or torii, on the outskirts of the shrine, the sacred peaks of Mount Misen, extensive forests and its ocean view. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amaterasu Railway
Enjoy magnificent nature as you take this open-air train. The main event is the crossing of the Takachiko Railway Bridge, Japan’s highest, at about 105 meters high.
Japanese Cuisine
Enjoy much of Kyushu’s local cuisine as we bring you to local restaurants, like ramen and okonomiyaki. Plus, you will have the chance to try out their street food.
